Thanks all, who rapidly replied to explain the mystery of how posts and answers appear in the same digest.  I can see certain advantages, and disadvantages, but the issue is moot as I don't have a constantly open line at home.  I do at work, but I'm only there three days a week, and anyway, being
a floor nurse, can't sit at the computer all day.  But eventually. . .
