Until my diabetes diagnosis I was a religious blood donater and gave a pint
at the shortest intervals possible. Since I also birthed and nursed two
children who often accompanied me to the blood bank, I can't see where this
nurse got this weird idea. The only effect of giving blood is a day of light
headedness if I didn't replace fluids adequately. It never even occured to me
to be concerned about my supply and I am sure there was no change.
