I heard a different excuse this week -- the baby is 3 mos old and the mom
says the *baby* wants to wean !! now, I truly believe BF makes for higher
inteligence (as evidenced by my own three) but this is a bit much!!
This is a mom I've known a long time who has a three y.o. also and has called
me several times over the past three months. I think the mom (obviously)
wants to wean and had already started by replacing 1-2 feeds/day. I discussed
the approp method of gradual wean and left it to her to call me. I have an
article from a lay magazine that talks about the benefits of BF for a few
days, weeks, months or years. Sometimes I re-read it myself so I can remind
myself that the baby had some benefits, however short a time the mothr gave
it.
