Yes we are starting a study module next month with all our staff. The
course has been designed in the same format as the PCEP (Perinatal
Continuing Education Program) out of the University of Oklahoma. You can
contact Rising Star Education Inc, Judith Harris at 405.341.1517 or Linda
Miller at 405.364.4989 for more information. The program is designed to
have all levels of staff and doctors to take the program at the same time.
The books cost $50.00 ea, one for each person, and $125.00 per trainer for
the Train the Trainer education. We think it will be a big plus for our
hospital. This is the first time we have take this program, but have taken
the PCEP program q 3 years for many years.
Hope this helps,

Crystal Stearns RNC, MS, IBCLC

Our hospital has been using self-study modules for staff education
in
breastfeeding. A new RN will complete the modules and then arrange
to
round with the IBCLC for 4 hours as part of orientation. Our
modules need
        revision.

Is anyone else doing something similar? I have looked in the
archives and
could not find comments about this. It seems most are doing
inservices
        for staff education.

Please email me on or off the list if you are doing something
similar for
staff education. I want to check with the group before we spend
time
        revising.

        Thank you!
