In various posts recently and with one mom I have seen my suggestion would
have been using the syntocinon which is no longer available.

Has anyone used the pitocin available at the hospital pharmacy for
inductions, put it in a saline nasal spary bottle and used it to simulate
the syntocinon? Is it really all that simple or does some dilution need to
be done? How much, how often etc...

One mom in particular was so stressed out by having an NICU baby that even
though she would have a let-down with a pump, she could not with the baby.
Please realize that some people can tolerate seeing their infant in a crib
with all sorts of monitors attached and still see the baby in there -
others are totally overwhelmed by it all, and even skin to skin, etc. does
not easily provide the relaxation needed to let down. The docs are
thinking of giving her tranquilizers (yes, she gets that upset), but I'd
like to try something a little less drastic and more positive...

I don't think the spray would be needed ( and I know it isn't recommended)
for a long period of time, but a few times of success would mean so much to
her!

At the risk of being lambasted for trying artificial means - I ask humbly
for help.
