Interesting point about the "life" positions women of various cultures tend to find comfortable.  I still wonder, does allowing the baby to be in contact with mom's body in a way that allows it to use it's natural reflexes to latch help those babies who have been given bottles and now we are trying to encourage latching (i.e. correct latching) onto the breast?

Susan, thanks for your post.  You made a lot of good points.  I don't think we should certify any particular technique, either.
