Dr. Gail Hertz,

There were no oral contraceptives or other medications used.  Babies with both sleeping 5-6 hours at a time by 2 months of age.  When mom felt her supply faltering, she starting pumping once at night and once or twice during the day.  It doesn't sound like she had an effective pump though.  She supplemented with formula after a few weeks (she is unsure of how much time) of increasing feedings and pumping.  A plan is definitely important.  We are working to develop that which is why I am hoping to get more information about hormonal issues that may have been involved.
