Hello Riva,

My experience with the home use model of the Whittlestone, was mixed.
It was very comfortable, but moms sometimes a problems letting down. The
pump worked by using pulsation and only negative pressure; there was no
pulling or tugging. It really worked great for engorgement and clearing
up damaged nipples. They stopped production a year back and developed
two new products, a new hospital grade rental pump called the Unipulse
and a hand pump. The rental pump really works well and is as strong as
the Classic, but does not use suck and release, just pulsation and one
way airflow. You may want to contact the manufacturer directly and see
if they are bringing it or have it in Israel.

Best Wishes,

Subject: whittlestone breast pump

I have checked the archives and the most recent listing about the
whittlestone pump is from 2002. Has anyone had some experience with it
since then? I understand it is gentle but is it also effective? What
would any of you advise as far as a hospital grade pump to make
available to women who are in need but can't afford to buy or rent(that
is to say, which, in your opinion,is the "best" pump or secondbest but
affordable - under $300). I will be greatly appreciative to anyone who
can share their experience and expertise. Riva Weissfish BA,CCE, busily
