Dear Friends:
Philadelphia is the 5th largest city in the US, with a population of 1.5+
million. Its main paper is the Inquirer. YIn yesterday's Inquirer, there was
an editorial about breast cancer, "Studies but no sure answers," that started
out talking about breast cancer in a character on a popular TV show, and then
went on to describe some of the complexities of research.
I am thrilled to see that the American Cancer Society was quoted as
saying that women "might" lower breast cancer risk by avoiding alcohol, staying
slim, giving birth to several children, and breastfeeding!
We are making progress when breastfeeding is mentioned in a major
newspaper, and quoted from a major organization. Good news.
    warmly,
Nikki Lee RN, MS, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CCE, CIMI
