Hi, I am a LLL leader in Westchester County, New York and saw Roseann's post:

When there were no responses posted I figured that I had to stop lurking
and respond. I can only give my personal experience as I got pregnant the
first time after trying for years with the help of vaginal progesterone
supositories. The second time I needed no help conceiving but my
progesterone level was too low (9) for the doctor's comfort so I went back
on the vaginal supositories. Most likely due to vaginitis my level stayed
low (12) so my fertitlity specialist and midwife decided to up the level
with injections. That worked (24) and I went back to the supositories but
my level dropped again. So I went through the rest of my first trimester
with daily injections (the lower level --sorry I do not remember the exact
amount). AND I nursed my two year old throughout pregnancy (and am still
nursing). Both the fertility specialist and midwife assured me it was OK.
The midwife was very supportive of bf and did not insist that I wean when I
spotted at 8 weeks either. I know that this is a case of one and I don't
have any references to back this up but thought it might help to know that
someone else went through this.
