As I thought, baby had really tight pterygoids.  Her right side was also really compromised, which I hadn't picked up on.  Doing the typical check for torticollis showed nothing.  The tightness was more at the base of the skull, which didn't compromise movement from side to side, but definitely contributed to tightness in the mouth and neck.  So interested!!  Just a note for those who need ideas, CST/chiro really can work wonders on those little birdy mouths that just will.not.open!
