Lisa,
   Thank for your note about the pump company reps.  I think you are very
correct.  We do need to remain unbiased and look at the facts both about the
pumps and about what our clients need, as well as keeping to our
breastfeeding standards.  In this culture, it is very easy to sway this and
that way in an effort to make people happy, whether it be clients, hospital
nursing staff, or pump co. representatives or others.  I try hard not to
allow my breasfeeding message to get watered down, to be flexible and open
minded, but not to compromise on the breastfeeding standards. It's a fine
line sometimes...a tough job. Breastfeeding is the best and if at all
possible that should be done, feeding at the breast. Beyond that with
mother's particular needs or babies particular needs we have gizmos to help
get mother's milk to babies.  Those gizmos we are thankful for when we need
them, but they should not be used unless there is a true need for them.
