My dear Lactnet friends,
After much soul searching, I am leaving the LC field. I am trying to decide
what I have around here that is useful and what is not. Believe or not, when
I donated some materials to LLLI last August when this journey began, they
decided they "didn't want my junk." Now having been an LC for nine years and
working with bf babies for almost 17 years, I didn't think my vast collection
of books and conference programs were useless. However, I guess if you
haven't been at the program, then the syllabus is not of use to you.
So anyway, I am offering (for sale, I'm sorry to say) my many years
collection of cassette tapes, books and conference stuff. I'm not ready to
part with my slides (may just 'lend them" to patricia until I'm ready to part
with them). So please e-mail me privately with your name and address and I
will send you a list of what's available. First come, first served and
please be ready to pay for shipping (third class mail or whatever is
cheapest). I will use the holiday weekend to compile a list so please don't
expect a response till around the 10th of the month. This is hard enough to
do....please be gentle with me. I have already sold/donated some great
books, etc to local "new" LC's. (Assunta, are you out there?) I wish you
all the best and will always be supportive of bfing; I'm just not in a
position to fight my way into a job anymore. Sorry to say, I'm taking the
easy way out and already have gotten a wonderful, well paying job.
