Barbara: Your story about your supervisor made me cringe - especially since
she was IBCLC. That mom's opinion of LC's certainly won't be a positive one. I
agree with you - each baby is different. I always try to teach the MOM how to
position, etc because she is the one who will be doing this when they get
home. THE " CRAM AND JAM" TECHNIQUE JUST DOESN"T WORK!! (Yes, I am shouting!)
BF should be a comfortable, positive time for mom and baby. I'm so sorry that
this mom decided to stop. In marketing they say if a customer gets bad
service, she will tell 10 friends about the bad experience. Let's hope we
didn't lose other moms.
