Yesterday, I came across a reference in Prescription for Nutritional
Healing by Phyllis Balch about manganese deficiency and "tendency toward
breast ailments". It is not more specific about "ailments" at this point,
but later in the book mastitis is discussed, and the recommendation for
manganese is to take 2 mg/day, not at the same time as calcium. Manganese
usually comes in 10 mg pills, and it's cheap. (I take it daily for
something else. Small pill. Easy to swallow.)
