I forgot to add that I maintain my credibility by letting the nurses know
my intention to leave the baby with mom *before* the birth, and assuring
them that if I feel the baby needs more attention, I will have it taken
to the warmer.  When the baby does in fact need some help, I follow
through with this (and then make sure the baby gets back to mom ASAP).
