Please take a look at the following article which  another IBCLC shared with 
me yesterday.  Although published in 2004, it is  very timely:

The article is titled:  Group makes new assault on  nursing scope of practice.
 
As you will see, IBCLCs are not the only ones to come under  the gun...and as 
you read this, it may come more clear why this restrictive SoP  for IBCLCs 
was created.
