My profound apologies to everyone on Lactnet who had the misfortune to read
or hear about the post that supposedly was written by me yesterday.

It scared the heck out of me because I didn't know how anyone could have
gotten my password: I certainly didn't give it out and a bomb threat was sent
to me as well.

After reviewing all the horrible bomb threats and sexual stuff that the
perpetrator sent to everyone in my address book, there were enough clues to
identify the person.

It was my emotionally disturbed nephew who used to live with us, and in
better times was allowed to sign onto AOL using my password. Stupidly, I did
not change it when he left here in worse times. He has admitted to the
"crime" and his guardian is trying to figure out what to do about the
situation as I write. Any suggestions? E-mail me privately if you have any.

If it is true that someone reported the incident to the FBI, could that
person e-mail me privately so that I may get details. The threat of the FBI
being notified may just be the way to impress upon this teen that his actions
can have serious consequences, indeed!

AOL strongly encouraged me, and I encourage you too, to change passwords at
least once monthly to prevent this type of thing happening.

I assure everyone that I am not leaving lactation consulting as a profession,
that I am not crazy (well at least not enough to behave like a sociopath),
and that I enjoy Lactnet and its subscribers and I find LActnet to be an
ongoing important aspect of my professional life.

No one should have to be the brunt of the kind of abusive language and
threats that were posted yesterday: I sincerely regret that they were. Thank
you all who called or e-mailed privately who were concerned about me and my
welfare. Your support is deeply appreciated!

As for all lactnetters: I look forward to reading your enlightening and
oftimes provocative posts. I have sorely missed Lactnet when my motherboard
and hard drive forced me to be computerless for 3 months. It was a terrible
way to start back but I hope you all can forgive and forget.

Thanks, Alison
