I'm wondering if parents in other countries are so "into" baby
crib alarms. They are really meant for babies who suffer from apnea
but I don't think I've been to a household in ages (all educational/
socio-economic levels) without one. Is this the result of aggresive
marketing? Maybe it's another example of the Israeli love
affair with electronics and high tech devices... These monitors are
quite expensive and so unneccesary for most parents. My main gripe
however is the insecurity new parents feel when the baby is out of the
crib. They feel the baby is safe and well-protected when plugged in.
Now just how many of these same parents would know what to do if the
alarm went off and the baby really did stop breathing...
What do you all think about this?
