I had a mombaby come to me because the Ped said the 6 month old was failure
to thrive.  This baby was a very happy baby and very happy to starve.
I did a digital suck assessment and found a posterior tongue tie.  Mom had
it released and baby thrived end of story.
Doc wanted to hospitalize baby with iv etc.. give formula but waited until I
saw baby.
Look under the tongue. Feel under the tongue. How is the seal?  How is the
suction?
This Ped trusted me and waited for my opinion.. we had the frenulum taken
care of and baby was feeding and gaining normal.  doc happy.
