I just wanted to bounce this off all the experienced people out on this
list. I had a mom last night, a primip post c/s who on her post c/s orders
had Reglan ordered IV every 6 hrs x 6 "for lactation. This mom had no
lactation risk factors, and she herself did not know why this was ordedred
for her and it had not been discussed with her. (I got her after her round
of 6 was up) Her baby was nursing beautifully, and mom enjoyed a night of
co-sleeping and nursing. I am curious if others have seen this type of
order for a mom. Am I missing something? I thought Reglan for lactation
was something embarked upon if there were supply problems later on, not
immediately postpartum.

My co-workers found it unusual as well.
Janette
