Hi Netters,

I had to put together a list of all abbreviations I could come up with in our
field a few years ago when I did educational workshops for non RNs.  The list
is on my C drive but it will not pull up on AOL .  Is anyone else having
problems or am I doing something wrong???  I usually just press on file, open
and then on C drive.  Weird stuff come up.  O'well.  Here are a few abb.
ABM     -artificial baby milk
a.c.       -before meals
ad lib     -at pleasure
ante       -before
BF         -breastfeed
b.i.d.      -twice daily
c            -with
cal          -cal
cc           -cubic centimeter
CDC        -Center for Disease Control
CMV        -cytomeglovirus
CNG         -continuous nasogastric
EBM         -expressed breast milk
EMM         -expressed mother's milk
gm            -gram
gtt             -drop
HBV          -Hepatitis B virus
HMF          -human milk fortifier
IgA, I         -Immunoglobulin A, G, M.....
IV              -intravenously
LBW          -low birth weight
LGA           -large gestational age
NG             -nasogastric
NEC           -necrotizing enterocolitis
p.c.             -after eating
q.d.             -every day
q.h.            - every hour
q.i.d.          -4 times a day
qod             -every other day
qs               -quantity sufficient
SGA            -small gestational age
STAT           -immediately
t.i.d.             -3 times a day
TcPO2          -transcutaeous blood oxygen pressure (premie baby)
WHO            -World Health Organization
