I usually say something like: Hmmm...that's a strange order...wonder why
he would want such a thing.....most doctors don't do that. Then I go on
to educate about signs that would indicate a true need for a supplement.
There is nothing wrong with teaching parents to question and be smart
consumers.

In 15 years, I've never had a doc come back at me for this. Guess it
looks like the parents just figured it out themselves.
