chayn,
it sounds like the tongue mobility may be restricted causing the baby to not
be able to handle the milk flow well. the baby may indeed be gaining well
because it sounds like mother has possibly an oversupply/overactive mer too.
or maybe she has a normal supply but the baby is having trouble handling it.
sounds like a referral to have the tongue fully evaluated is in order. use
whatever positions are most comfortable for baby. have mom express and feed
baby if needed. get this done soon.
