 A Standing Order for in- hospital Lactation Consultation JHL 12(3) 1996 (antique , LOL)
The drs added : Lactation Consultation as indicated per breastfeeding standards criteria.
Then the perinatal staff nurse determines if criteria has been met and if not, simply initiates the standing order.
In other words, the nurses need to be able to point out mothers needing help.

The standards need to be revised to more current objectives, plus the ones in the article are a tad formal and wordy.
