I'm looking for information on extended exclusive breastfeeding.(longer
than 6 months)
References, information and personal stories would be appreciated.

I read that exclusively breastfed babies have sufficient iron stores for 9
- 12 months...Why then do DR.s recommend iron rich solids at 6 months?

The literature I've read frequently refers to weaning age
I've come to believe that I can not assume that this means exclusive
breastfeeding until this age - in scientific nor anthropological studies.
Any suggestions.

I'm a breastfeeding Mom of a 17 month old son, I do breastfeeding support
and I'm studying to become a lactation consultant.
