I am constantly coming up against the soy myth among vegetarians, who truly seem to think that they are not harming their babies so long as they use soy. They have been so convinced that cow milk is dangerous (I agree) and that soy is healthy food (IMO--depends on the form of soy and the quantity) that they make the leap into thinking soy AIM is healthy, too. Even very smart people with lots of education in veg nutrition defend soy AIM in their desire to defend soy as a food beyond infancy. I find myself posting the same info over and over again, b/c the pro-soy camp is so adamant. When I first came across this issue, I was shocked, b/c it is so inconsistent with the way most vegetarians eat--very conscious about nutrition.
