Ellen,

See the February 1998 Hadassah Magazine, Vol. 79, no. 6, pp. 36-39,
"Jerusalem's Milky Way" written by Barbara Sofer. This article describes
a mother's milk bank in Jerusalem that collects milk donated only by
strictly dietary-observant, religious women. Some of the donors have
agreed to be on wheat-free, dairy-free, or soy-free diets for babies in
need who have severe allergies. The Mother's Milk Bank is run by Bracha
Mann. They have supplied milk for babies as far away as Canada. This
might be one option for your friend in need, if a solution closer to home
can't be found.
