If the baby is indeed nursing well, the weight loss and bilirubin levels
should stabilize very soon. If they do not, then there may be more issues to
explore.

You did fine. Being a nurse is hard, there are protocols and documentation,
there are doctors to contend with, etc., etc. And some of them are prone to
throwing in a little attitude where breastfeeding is concerned, depending on
their own personal biases. But as long as the baby is being monitored, it is
not likely that he will suddenly be in trouble, such as an extremely high
bili, without prior warning. BTW, a 10 bili is not that high, except with
premies - a basically healthy 38-weeker does not qualify as premature.  .

Let us know how it goes.  Each case is a learning experience.
