Sure it still exists! That's how the intestinal tract, from mouth to anus,
works.  That's also why problems anywhere along the line have such far
reaching consequences.  (ie:constip-poor appetite, diarrhea-poor appetite,
belly ache-poor appetite.) I think of this as a self protecting sort of
mechanism.  One part hurts, signals other parts not to overload the system.
