I weighed a thriving baby recently.  His mom picked him up from the scale,
put him over her shoulder, and he threw up copiously.  "Ooh," I said,
"Let's put him back on the scale and see how much spit-up weighs!"  She set
him right back on the scale in exactly the same position, minus the
spit-up, and he had *gained* a tenth of an ounce.  So yes, you're going to
see arbitrary tiny differences one way or the other.  Most likely negative
ones, as you say, because of water loss and energy output.
