My information states also that infectious mononucleosis caused by CMV is a
contraindication to bf, but that Infect. Mono caused by EBV is not a
contraindication (Ruth Lawrence MD's book).

I wonder what the indication is that the offending organism is CMV? THat is
the first thing I'd check, because if it if EBV, it would not be necessary
to wean.
