The high concentration of aluminum in formulas has been known for some time
(at least several years). The concentration is even higher in soy formulas
than in cow's milk based formulas. It is for this reason that soy is not
used for very small premature babies. There kidneys can't handle the load
of aluminum, and documented cases of renal failure have occurred with soy
formulas.

Whether the high concentration of aluminum has anything to do with later
development of Alzheimer's is not proved.
