Jean,
I really like this idea. Wil try it tommorrow with client who has had no
success with pumping, heat, cold, cabbage, and at 5 days pp is still
very swollen.

I tell all my clients that engorgement has less to do with "Milk coming
in" than it has to do with body reabsorbing the extra fluids of
pregnancy...they just tend to happen at the same time.

I see this frequently from mothers who deliver at the local hospital
where some nurse(s) are reccommending not putting baby to breast any
more often than 3 hr intervals as "there is no milk there anyway...it
takes the breast 3 hours to make more" Needless to say these moms come
home supplementing, or at best, get home, birth drugs wear off baby, and
babe who was content to feed every three hours in hospital is screaming
and hungry.

Thanks for this new idea. This mother was very concerned about
dehydration, and started supplements when babes mouth became dry, but
does NOT want to supplement any longer than absolutely neccessary.
Laura
