I sometimes find the simplist method of demonstration is the most effective method of demonstration.  This is especially so for sleep deprived new mothers!

I  grab a paper towell from the dispenser (which demonstrates a casualness of the process) and write in big words a checklist for mum to hold her baby:

BOTTOM IN
CHEST IN
CHIN IN
NIPPLE UP THE NOSE
GO!

This can sometimes be a light switch for those mums who cannot resist starting with the mouth then positioning the rest of the baby later.
