I got these instructions from someone else, if you have AOL and want to
get to LACTCHAT, try this. If this does not work, call AOL tech support.

1. download mirc using AOL to download directory

          (Must be 16 bit version)
          Suggest to download version 4.5 at site
          http://www.mirc.co.uk
          MUST be 16 bit version for AOL even with win95

2. explode it and find the folder it makes. Put this folder in AOL
directory. Make a short cut for it in win95

3. Skip to 4, I believe this line was a wrong direction

4. sign on to AOL and minimize window

5. open mIRC and first sceen is Author Screen (close it)

6. next Setup screen pops open and click add

7. enter Description "DALnet:cyberverse.ca.us.dal.net" in line one

8. enter IRC Server "cyberverse.ca.us.dal.net" in line two (Also change
port to 7000 from 6667)

9. click ADD

*****Servers can and will lock you out if you violate the rules*****

10. fill in your AOL screen name exactly like you use it

11. fill in your AOL e-mail address

12. fill in two nicknames

13. highlight U of Minnesota Server and click connect be patient this part
may be slow.

          Some times you can not connect server is full.
          Some times you can not connect and rebooting machine helps.


14. a window pops open; then fill in top line with 'LactChat'

15. click JOIN **you should be there.**
