This could be another BF related gimmick...any
evidence available that "hits" to the breasts in
contact sports impede later BFing? A firm sports bra
might be the better investment. The Title 9 catalog
has a wide selection of sports bras (no financial
ties, just a great source for bras).

On a personal note, in my mid-twenties I suffered a
direct kick, hard enough to nearly knock me off my
feet, to my left breast. Resulted in bruising of
nipple, areola, and some surrounding tissues. Ten
years later, had no problems nursing with that breast
(nor with the other one--tee hee). I did think about
that incident during my first pregnancy and wondered
if the trauma would affect the function of that
breast.
