I have been reading with great interest this variety of opinions in how to
have babies at bf conferences. I agree that we need to allow moms and
babies to come together to a variety of bf topics; as the Area Conference
Supervisor for LLL of VA the question of how to handle the complaints
regarding noisy babies/toddlers has been something I have wrestled with
since my first conference last May. For 1996 I have come up with what I
hope is a good, if not perfect solution.

We are holding a symposium entitled "Lactation Theory and Practice: Keeping
Current" on April 26th at the Tysons Corner Marriott, which is in Northern
Virginia. This is in conjunction with the area conference, which is being
held on April 27th. We are offering IBLCE CERPs on both days, but on the
26th we are asking attendees to be there with only non-ambulatory babies in
arms, on both days, that attendees to the CERP sessions be sensitive to the
professional nature of those sessions. By the way, on the 26th we are
being joined by Dr. Miriam Labbok, as well as many other LCs, RNs, and Dr.
Marilyn Renfield, who will speak on bf and post partum depression.

If you are interested in a registration brochure please let me know.
