Wal-Mart to Launch Affordable DHA-Enriched Infant Formula in Parent's Choice
with a Blend of Lipids

GORDONSVILLE, Va., Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Wal-Mart announced that its
private label infant formula, Parent's Choice, will now add a DHA-enriched
product this fall -- Parent's Choice with a blend of LIPIDS -- to its store
brand formula product line. Wal-Mart's Parent's Choice infant formula line
is made by Wyeth Nutritionals, a business unit of Wyeth.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently allowed the safe
addition of ARA and DHA -- two important long-chain fatty acids found
naturally in mothers' milk, to infant formula.

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Arachidonic acid (ARA), two long-chain
polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPs), have long been recognized as important
building blocks of the brain and eye. Studies have demonstrated a
significant, quantifiable improvement in brain and eye development that is
attributed to these LCPs.

A number of studies indicate breastfed babies may have a mental and visual
advantage over bottle-fed babies. This may be due, in part, to two important
fatty acids found naturally in mother's milk -- ARA and DHA. Recognizing
this potential benefit for bottle-fed babies, last spring the FDA approved
the inclusion of ARA and DHA into infant formula.

"For my non-breastfeeding patients, I have recommended Parent's Choice as it
is as nutritionally complete as the major brands, but at significant
savings," said Dr. Joe Hinkle, M.D. "With the addition of Parent's Choice
with a blend of LIPIDS, patients will now have an affordable alternative for
this new, and very promising, innovation."

Parent's Choice infant formula is distributed by PBM Products.
