We haven't addopted our child just guardianship. She was well passed nursing
age, 5 and 1/2. But I have found closeness very important. She doesn't know
how to cuddle, but loves to have her back tickled. She loves lotion put on
her back, arms and legs. Sometimes when she is still, I sit with her on my
lap resting my hand over her heart. I feel that it helps us connect deeply,
almost like I did with my birth children. Has it worked? It is still hard
three years later to get her to look in your eyes for more that a second. But
she loves to hold my had and yesterday sang the "Love you forever" song to me.
Attachment disorders are hard to get over . Even some babies adopted at birth
have problems. I think the rebirthing is great. Good luck .
