I had two c sections - one with epidural and one with a spinal - in both
cases I was able to breastfeed the baby immediately on the table - After the
spinal this meant doing this flat on your back. Anyone who has seen the
video of the infant placed on the mothers abdomen who mouths his way to the
breast - that's exactly what it was like. Our hospital allowed all mothers
to breastfeed post c section if they asked and was fairly good about giving
them the babies immediately even if they didn't. I was recovered in the OB
recovery room where all the nurses were OB nurses.
