Severe engorgement
I recently worked with a mother with very, very severe engorgement. Dad did
exactly that (he told me a couple of weeks later) and it really did help to
get the milk flowing to baby could latch and finish the job! He also did this
to assist in withdrawing a milk bleb.

During a consult I did last night the dad asked if the milk would be good for
an adult, when I replied, "Of course." he was interested to know for what
conditions etc. I think once people begin to understand the miracle of "white
blood" they are more accepting of unorthodox suggestions to help breastfeeding
succeed. This would work with a select audience of course!
