Depends on what kind of pda you have.

If it's Windows-based like a Palm, you can buy Hale's M&MM from his website, and from KellyMom you can get a Jaundice calculator and a Weight Gain or Loss calculator that shows actual numbers and %ages. I think that's it for Palm-based devices.

If it's an iTouch or iPhone, you can go thru iTunes to get a Skyscape subscription for MediLac (another name for M&MM). You can also get Breastfeeding Management from massbfc.org (free). And there's a Jaundice calculator for cheap. Search the medical apps for what you need. There's one called Units which calculates conversions of weights, volumes and other units of measure. Would love to find the KellyMom Weight gain/loss %ages on iTunes, or anyone else's version. I would get it in a minute! If you have an iTouch, be SURE the app will work on it and not just on the iPhone. Don't know if the iTunes apps also work on the new iPad, but I'd guess they do. (They didn't check with women before naming that thing, did they? But I digress...)

Both drug info apps offer a subscription which allows updates to the app any time they occur during the subscription time. Books can't do that. But you can't make photocopies of info from apps like you can from books. So I use both.

I have seen an RN in my unit with a droid-based phone and she has several medical apps made for that kind of programming.

It's worth it to keep checking your source for apps because new ones are being written constantly.

Is there any lactation references that you can't live without?
Anyone know of a reference that is downloadable to a pda?

I'm starting a breastfeeding clinic in my community and want to maximize my resources for purchasing reference material.

Thanks,
