The need for estrogen replacement at the first hint of menopause is not an
absolute like insulin for diabetes!   Many of us who have risk factors
contraindicating ERT are doing quite well, thank you.   This mom needs to
weigh various factors:  history of osteoporosis;  possibility that ERT at
this time may reduce milk supply, although probably would not be harmful to
baby; option of waiting until baby weans to begin ERT.   It is her decision.
