Wise Ones,
During a storm yesterday, a mom experienced a "brown-out" where she lost the
strength of electricity to her house.  She didn't know her freezer was not
fully powered and her 2 months' worth of pumped milk turned to slush.  She
started work this week and is pretty distraught about the milk.  Can she
refreeze it? (About 60-80 ounces) She describes it as liquidy with solid
parts still in it.  Doesn't that mean the temp of the milk is still 0 C?
She's dashing over to the neighbor's freezer but wants to know if she can
use it after it's been refrozen.  Her son is almost 4 months. Her first day
of work yesterday she didn't pump as much as he took, so is worried about
keeping up now without a back-up supply and doesn't want to use formula. If
the milk is a bit "off" would the baby get sick from it or does it just
taste funny?  Is it worth the risk of offering it to him?  THanks.  I
searched the archives on this but came up empty.
