Hi all:
I (re)certified by exam oct 2011. I would like to recertify with CERPS
in 5 years, and have begun to work on that. I attended an all day
symposium about the role of human milk, which granted education credits
for physicians, but no CERPS. I have contacted the IBCLE re: completing
an individual application for CERP approval, and this is the response:
"If the certificate of completion does not designate the number and type
of CERPs, you will need to submit an Individual Application for CERPs.
This Individual Application for CERPs must be submitted at the same time
you submit your Recertification by CERPs application. IBLCE will review
the education submitted and award or deny CERPs as appropriate.
Individual CERP applications are no longer allowed to be submitted ahead
of time. The application for this is not available yet. We hope to have
it posted mid January.

Thank You, Amanda Axline, Recertification Associate IBLCE"

Is it just me, or does anyone else have a problem with this? I would
like to know ahead of time how many CERPS I need, as that will determine
the number of conferences I attend, or on-line courses I take. Does
anyone know why IBCLE has decided that this can not be done ahead of
time?
