Hi
I've played around with the Newt nomogram https://www.newbornweight.org <https://www.newbornweight.org/> but have never used it as a teaching tool with parents yet. On the surface, it seems to be validated by some pretty sound research http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/early/2014/11/25/peds.2014-1532.abstract?related-urls=yes&legid=pediatrics;peds.2014-1532v1 <http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/early/2014/11/25/peds.2014-1532.abstract?related-urls=yes&legid=pediatrics;peds.2014-1532v1> at least for their population/practices.
I haven’t read the full text article though. Questions that come to mind are:
what are their IV fluid practices in this institution?
what are their standard breastfeeding support practices?
Has anyone used this tool and what are your thoughts?
Many thanks, Meggie
