Are any Aussie subscribers to lactnet watching Home and Away at
the moment? Sorry, I know, I am not really a soapie fan but it just
happens to be in a new time slot at 7 pm which is when I am
usually feeding my 10 week old. Anyway, there is a breastfeeding
saga going on and the character was in tears tonight because it
was to painful to breastfeed, her baby is 3 days old and she is
home. She asks her partner to get some bottles and he says
"surely there is something else you can do, our baby is only 3
days old, what about expressing" She says "there can't be that
much difference between formula and breastmilk" He says "I want
what is best for my child, he is not a puppy or something!"
Anyhow, next scene he is talking to a friend who suggests that he
get help with the feeding, doesn't mention who from though.
Unfortuantely the next scene he walks in with a packet of bottles
and formula and the baby has one, but he is furious. Presumably
that is that as far as the breastfeeding goes, stay tuned for
mondays episode of Home and Away. I am hooked after that.
