I think you're thinking good thoughts here: could be a high palate, could  
be a posterior tongue restriction ( often goes with a high palate), could be 
the  shoulder's asymmetric injury that is pulling from the bottom of the 
tongue, via  the hyoid and the neck/shoulder musculature. Could be any or 
all...wouldn't life  be simpler if it was only "allowed" to be one thing that 
was clear and we could  focus on it? :)
