Pizotyline is a tricyclic derivative similar in structure to imipramine and
amitriptyline.  It has been marketed for use in migraine prophylaxis when other
agents have failed.  There is nothing I can find on its transfer to human
breastmilk,  but I imagine it is tranferred in small concentrations just like
the other Tricyclic medications.

Half-life is 23 hours.  Protein binding is >90% which is good.  Weight gain
seems to be the most common untoward effect.  Other side effects are similar to
the TCAs,  anticholineric in nature,  dry mouth, constipation, etc.

Still,  the universal drug of choice for prophylaxis of migraine is still
propranolol, which is generally safe for breastfeeding mothers.
